Kiwi rider George Bennett has held on to his top-10 placing after the eighth stage of the Giro d'Italia on Sunday morning (NZT).
Bennett slipped one spot to 10th, after finishing 15th in the summit finish of Montevergine di Mercogliano in sodden conditions.
Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz took line honours, claiming his nation's first-ever Grand Tour stage win, leapfrogging ahead of Bennett into eighth position.
Second-placed Davide Formolo finished seven seconds behind Carapaz, after edging France's Thibaut Pinot into third and fellow Italian Enrico Battaglin into fourth.
Briton Simon Yates maintained his overall lead and currently sits 1m 11s ahead of Bennett.
