Former All Black Julian Savea has confirmed he is moving to France, as he undertakes the next phase of his career.

The Hurricanes winger, who hasn't played for the All Blacks since the third test against the British and Irish Lions in July 2017, confirmed the big-money move with a tweet.

"It's been an absolute pleasure New Zealand," he wrote.

"Thank you for everything @Hurricanesrugby @AllBlacks & @WgtnRugby I've absolutely loved playing for my country for the past decade. Looking forward to this new adventure & joining @RCTofficiel in a few months."

Savea eases the pressure on the impending exits of backline stars Ma'a Nonu and Semi Radradra, while England international Chris Ashton has told the club he wishes to leave - but Toulon has denied these claims.

Fellow former All Blacks and Chiefs captain Liam Messam is also joining the club next season.

Fellow New Zealanders Malakia Fekitoa and Alby Mathewson are currently contracted to the three-time European champions.

It is understood Toulon will confirm the singing in coming days.

Savea has played 54 tests for the All Blacks, scoring 46 tries.
