NBA finals: Steph Curry's sharp shooting leads warriors to Game 2 win

The Golden State Warriors are within two wins of back-to-back NBA championships after blowing away the Cleveland Cavaliers 122-103 in Game 2 of the finals at Oracle Arena in Oakland.

Guard Steph Curry netted 33 points for the Warriors, including nine three-pointers - which set a new NBA finals record.

Curry, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson combined for 79 points to combat another strong performance from LeBron James.

'King James' scored 29 points, 13 assists and nine rebounds; but despite some decent help from Kevin Love and George Hill, the Cavs never got within five points of the Warriors after the first quarter.

Curry, who broke former Celtics sharp shooter Ray Allen's record set in 2010, said he is humbled to belong in the same conversation as some of the league's all-time great shooters.

"It means a lot," Curry told ABC's Doris Burke following the game.

"Reggie Miller and Ray Allen are the two names that always pop up at the top of the 3-point shooter lists, so any time you're mentioned with those names is pretty special."

The series shifts to Cleveland next, with the Cavs looking to avoid the first finals sweep since 2007, when a young LeBron James ran into the San Antonio Spurs.
