Silver Fern Maria Folau was back on deck for the Northern Mystics, as they claimed back-to-back big scalps in netball's ANZ Premiership.

A 62-57 win over the champion Southern Steel in Auckland on Wednesday followed last week's road win over the previously unbeaten Central Pulse.

They took plenty of confidence into the Steel clash, unleashing a fast start and then a big third quarter.

Shooter Bailey Mes shot 89 percent, combining well with Sydney-based shooter Folau in the latter's first start of the season.

The Mystics improve to a four-win, four-loss record, while the Steel stay second on the ladder, despite their third defeat of the season.
