Rugby League: Kiwis attend Rockies baseball game before Denver test

While new Kiwis coach Mark Maguire grappled with important selection decisions, his players took the chance to unwind in very American fashion – at the baseball.

In Denver for their one-off test on Sunday (NZ time), the New Zealand and England rugby league teams were guests of honour when the Colorado Rockies hosted the New York Mets at Coors Field Stadium.

"This is my first time ever and a good experience," said winger Kan Maumalo. "This is my first time in the States, my first time in Colorado, so it's good to come out and watch the baseball.

"I see it all the time on ESPN, so to actually witness a baseball game is really cool."

The game resulted in a 10-8 win to the home side, with the Rockies hitting three home runs.
