A 28-strong Black Ferns team has been named to take on Australia’s Wallaroos in two Tests next month.

The two tests will be played in partnership with the All Blacks v Wallabies matches in Sydney on August 18 and in Auckland on August 25.

It’s the first time the Black Ferns have assembled since winning their fifth World Cup last August. It’s also the first time they’ll play as professional players, with 30 professional contracts now available in the women’s game.

The squad features eight potential debutants in Joanah Ngan-Woo, Marcelle Parkes, Leilani Perese, Cristo Tofa, Krysten Cottrell, Ruahei Demant, Alena Saili, and Monica Tagoa’i, while 52-cap hooker Fiao’o Faamausili will captain the team.
