Would you go and watch Usain Bolt play football?

That's the question Newshub posed to a few Wellington locals today, with news that A-League club the Central Coast Mariners have offered the sprint legend a six-week trial.

With the Wellington Phoenix scheduled to host the Mariners twice in the upcoming season, the opportunity to see one of the greatest athletes of all-time would seem an enticing one.

Bolt, of course, is not a natural footballer, despite having played as a youth back in Jamaica.

Newshub asked a few Wellington locals if they would be interested in checking the 31-year-old's football talents out.

"No, probably not," said one resident. "Just not much of a fan and it doesn't really interest me."

However there were a few people that admitted they would venture to Westpac Stadium just because Usain Bolt would be running around against the Phoenix.

"I reckon it would be absolutely fantastic," one said. "I'd go watch him once just to say I had seen him in person."
