Suffice to say the lowest-ranked team at the tournament overachieved to make it to the quarter-finals and now the home crowds will need to look elsewhere for their inspiration.
It's probably too much to expect them to fall behind England, given one of the most awaited clashes of the event has been the off-field confrontation between respective fans. The scene is now set for that showdown.
On the field, the Three Lions have milked the weaker side of the draw to take on a Croatian side that has struggled somewhat through the knockout rounds, after establishing themselves as the form team early.
Across the draw, neighbours France and Belgium engage in a 'local derby' of sorts for the other final berth.
