Lydia Ko has plummeted down the leaderboard, after a dismal final round at the latest women's PGA Championship in Illinois.

The 21-year-old posted a four-over 76 in the final round to finish in a tie for 31st on one-over at the Kemper Lakes Golf Club.

Ko slipped down to 10th heading into the final round, but couldn't recover, as she carded seven bogeys and three birdies during her round.

It was a crushing end for Ko, who was only two shots behind the leader at the halfway stage.

It wasn't all bad for the Kiwi, who was in 86th place after the first round.

Korea's Park Sung-hyun went on to win the event, edging Ryu So-yeon and Nasa Hataoka, in a sudden-death playoff, after finishing tied at 10 under.

The victory followed her breakthrough at last year's US Women's Open.
