Motorsport icon Travis Pastrana has landed the first of three dangerous jumps first attempted by legendary stuntman Evel Knievel.

To honour Knievel’s memory, Pastrana is attempting to surpass three of his signature jumps this weekend in Las Vegas.

The 34-year-old successfully completed the first jump, which saw him soar over 52 crushed cars in the parking lot in Las Vegas, which would beating Knievel’s record of 50 crushed cars.

He then attempt cleared 16 Greyhound buses, which bettered Knievel's 1975 record of 14 buses during an event in King's Island, Ohio.

Lastly, he made the 42-metre jump across the Caesar's Palace Fountain look easy - a stunt that left Knievel badly injured in 1967.
