NBA’s free agency has only just begun, but there have already been several high profile signings.

One in particular that would please many New Zealanders following our very own Steven Adams, is the Oklahoma City Thunder's resigning of Paul George.

The All-Star forward has committed to stay with the team on a four-year-deal, worth US$137 million, ending speculation that he would be joining the Los Angeles Lakers.

There were earlier rumours that he would be taking his talents to his hometown to team up with LeBron James, who looks set to be on his way out of Cleveland.

Russell Westbrook is believed to have played a large part in convincing George to stay with the Thunder and has thrown a party for the team's staff and players at his home.

In other notable movements around the league, All-Star Chris Paul signed a four-year, US$160 million contract to stay with the Houston Rockets.

Nuggets centre Nikola Jokic is set to accept a five-year, US$148 million maximum contract to stay in Denver, while big man DeAndre Jordan has verbally agreed to a one-year with the Dallas Mavericks.
