The Black Ferns Sevens are through to the Rugby World Cup semi-finals after a convincing win over Ireland in San Francisco.

After beating Mexico in their first match, New Zealand dominated the Irish 45-0 at AT&T Park.

The Black Ferns raced out to a 26-0 halftime lead thanks to a double from Portia Woodman, along with tries from Michaela Blyde and Niall Williams.

The defending champion scored three more in the second half, Blyde scored two more to complete the hat trick while Stacey Waaka dotted down for their seventh try of the game.

After two games, the Blacks Ferns have scored a combined total of 102 points while not conceding any.

Earlier in the day, they crushed Mexico 57-0 in their World Cup opener.

Captain Sarah Goss scored three of New Zealand's nine tries in the win over the hapless Mexicans.

Woodman and Blyde both scored two tries each, while Brazier and Waaka also scored for the Commonwealth Games gold medallists.

They will face either Russia or the USA for a spot in the final at 7:04am on Sunday morning (NZ time).

The All Blacks Sevens start their World Cup campaign later today against Russia or Hong Kong at 3:31pm.
