Kiwi golfer Lydia Ko is five shots off the pace heading into the third round at the women's British Open.
Ko mixed in four birdies with a trio of bogeys in a one-under-par 71 to hold a share of eighth place in her quest for a third major title.
Ko was pleased with her efforts and believes she's sitting "in a pretty solid position" at the tournament's halfway mark.
"My ball striking wasn't as good as yesterday, so I didn't really have that many birdie opportunities, but overall I think I was pretty solid," said Ko
"I made a few good up and downs, but heading into the weekend I feel like I'm in a pretty solid position."
The 21-year-old made four-straight birdies after a shaky start before going two-over through the testing final seven holes.
"It was a little more challenging because it started raining during the holes coming in and I feel they are some of the toughest holes on the golf course.
"It's the British Open, you're going to get a little bit of drizzle and you just have to manage that."
The current leader is Thailand's Pornanong Phatlum, who shot consecutive rounds of 67 to earn a one-shot lead at -10.
