Live updates: NRL- New Zealand Warriors vs Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs

FULLTIME: WARRIORS 26 - 27 BULLDOGS

80mins: Klemmer is milking the clock, getting back up slowly. Clock winding down now. Klemmer has another go, he's recovered. Lewis grubber it into touch with just seconds remaining. Johnson puts the kick through for RTS, Hopoate wins the race and dives on it and that's fulltime! Warriors blow chance to book NRL finals spot.

78mins: Johnson's kick is a poor one as the Bulldogs run it back to the 30m at centre-field. Klemmer pumps the legs and makes a strong run before Morris finds space down the left wing. Lewis fancies his chances, drops back and he kicks the field goal! Bulldogs lead!

76mins: WARRIORS TRY - HIKU: Gavet charges onto it but is stopped well before the Bulldogs are penalised. Papalii tries bashing his way over before Kata has a crack from dummy. Blair's put into a hole, one to beat, rides the tackle, offloads to Hiku and he's over for the try!

74mins: Lewis is CRUNCHED by Luke but holds on to the ball and the  Bulldogs make the error for a Warriors scrum. Was Ogden with the mistake. Great chance for the Warriors, just 30 metres out.

72mins: Johnson tries to spiral it but Hopoate takes it comfortably before Mannering is penalised. Bulldogs can't find touch however and it almost ends in a try for the home side but for the bounce of the ball going the Warriors way.

70mins: Bulldogs making plenty of metres up the middle before they put the kick up but Tuivasa-Sheck does well to get up, claim the catch and is tackled in the air and the Warriors get the penalty.

68mins: Marshall-King smashes Fusitu'a in the tackle but the Warriors still have it as Tuivasa-Sheck almost goes through before being awarded the penalty.

66mins: Blair offloads to Johnson before Beale's dragged to ground. Johnson opts against kicking on the last, finds Kata and things are at a standstill before Tevaga kicks through and Hopoate cleans up easily.

64mins: Pulu frees up Tevega, who's been very good this half, but knocks on as he went to ground in the tackle. Klemmer squashed him.

62mins: Papalii charges onto the ball and is tackled just a couple of metres short. Blair gets a nice inside pass, looks to spin out of the tackle and touch down but he's held up over the line! Johnson puts the grubber through, forcing another line drop out and he's down with an injury. He's holding his ankle but will soldier one.

60mins: Luke getting more involved as he has another crack from dummy. Johnson's kick is allowed to bounce, Kata claims it, puts the grubber through and Hopoate tries to clean up and it's a line drop out.

58mins: WARRIORS TRY - FUSITU'A: Lewis is almost sent through but there's enough contact there to force the knock on. Luke has a rare crack and he beats a couple up the middle. Johnson holds the ball, skips Beale, finds Fusitu'a on the right wing and he dives over in the corner for the try!

54mins: Lewis kicks high but this time Tuivasa-Sheck's under it and takes it comfortably in contact. Luke kicks from dummy and Morris returns it to the 40m.

52mins: BULLDOGS TRY - MORRIS: Lewis puts high, cross-kick up, Brett Morris gets up to beat Fusitu'a to it, bats it back for brother, Josh and he's over for the try! Morris twins combine and the Bulldogs hit back to extend their lead.

50mins: Afoa runs it hard from the kick-off and is met solidly! Tuivasa-Sheck has a crack before Johnson and Mannering combine. Johnson kicks, it's charged by Martin and he dives on the loose ball.

48mins: WARRIORS TRY - FUSITU'A: Fresh set of six for the Warriors as Johnson runs across field before finding Maumalo. Bulldogs concede another penalty as the Warriors shift right to Beale, he gives it to Fusitu'a and he reaches and dots down in the corner for the try!

46mins: Green attacks the line and wins the penalty for the Warriors. Johnson frees up Blair and he's tackled just a couple of metres out. Green puts the grubber through and Hopate knocks on!

44mins: Tuivasa-Sheck shows the ball and attacks the line before Maumalo charges it up strong. Johnson puts the kick up and Hopoate frees up Morris on the left.

42mins: We're back underway and it's Martin with the first hit-up. Lichaa makes a good run from dummy up the middle before Lewis' kick is well taken by Fusitu'a.

HALFTIME: WARRIORS 12 - 20 BULLDOGS

40mins: BULLDOGS TRY - LEWIS: Holland busts through a couple of tackles and he's through! He links up with Hopoate on his inside, RTS is tracking well, but the fullback finds Lewis on the inside and he dives over under the sticks for the try.

38mins: Looks like it came off a Bulldogs player but Canterbury are awarded the penalty nonetheless. Martin knocks over the penalty goal and the Bulldogs retake the lead.

36mins: Morris makes a nice run up the middle and almost goes right through before calls for a penalty from the home crowd. Frawley puts the kick up, RTS drops it and Green's penalised for being offside.

34mins: Tuivasa-Sheck shows great feet once more before Mannering forces the penalty at the play of the ball. Blair's wrapped up nicely, stopping the offload and he loses it as he goes to ground.

32mins: WARRIORS TRY - TUIVASA-SHECK: Johnson finds Papalii on the charge, he's got a number of support outside him and does extremely well to free the ball up, finds Tuivasa-Sheck and he dives over for the try.

30mins: Green finds Papalii with a nice flat ball and he's tackled short before the Warriors are awarded the penalty. They tap, attack through Tevaga before getting another penalty.

28mins: Johnson puts the bomb up, it's heading towards the sideline, Morris takes it nicely but Fusitu'a does extremely well to force the winger into touch.

26mins: Smith also makes a mess of the kick-off but finally gets the ball under control. Smith puts the kickup across his body and Maumalo charges onto the bouncing ball into contact.

24mins: BULLDOGS TRY - SMITH: Klemmer takes about four Warriors players with him towards the try line but he's tackled short. Smith charges onto Lichaa's ball and he bashes his way over for the try.

22mins: Klemmer is SMASHED by Gavet from the kick-off! Elliot is then hit hard straight after. Smith is freed up down the right wing and he's in a bit of space before RTS makes a good tackle. Fusitu'a tries the intercept and knocks on.

20mins: BULLDOGS TRY - ELLIOT: Bulldogs try and shuffle it left quickly and Beale almost intercepts, but Morris cleans up and runs back inside. Lewis pops a short no-look pass to Elliot and he reaches over for the try! Bulldogs strike back.

18mins: Green puts the kick through and it's a good one as the Bulldogs are forced to dive on it for a line drop out. But Maumalo makes an absolute meal of the drop out, fumbling the bouncing ball into touch.

16mins: Mannering concedes the penalty at the play of the ball. Bulldogs find a bit of space down the left before Klemmer beats a couple and offloads. Lewis' kick on the last is a shocking one and the Warirors get it back.

14mins: Gavet goes hard from the kick-off but he's well looked after by Klemmer and co. Paasi makes a strong run, followed by Papalii before Johnson kicks and finds Morris to return.

12mins: WARRIORS TRY - BEALE: Green's kick is played at and the Warriors have a fresh set. Johnson runs across field, shows it, finds Beale on the inside and he's over for the try!

10mins: Tuivasa-Sheck throws the dummy, puts the foot down and ALMOST does enough to go over but he's stopped just short. Papalii pumps the legs over the try line but he's held up.

8mins: Blair makes a strong charge before Tuivasa-Sheck almost gets the offload way. Blair finds Johnson with a great offload before Luke kicks but it goes dead.

5mins: Klemmer attacks the Warriors middle before Smith gets a nice inside ball and charges up the middle. Bulldogs kick and Maumalo gets up to claim it.

3mins: Kata attacks the line for the second time, but this time, he's tackled over the sideline after failing to link up with Maumalo.

1mins: We're underway and it's Paasi with the first hit-up and he's met solidly. Luke makes a nice dart from dummy before Mannering charges it up for Johnson to kick through.

4:00pm: Alright. Just moments away from kick-off now. Not a bad way to end a great weekend of sport.

3:56pm: The Warriors SHOULD record a comfortable win against the 16th-ranked Bulldogs. A victory would also seem the leapfrog the Broncos into 7th position on the ladder.

Pre-match banter: Stephen Kearney challenges David Fusitu'a to become best winger

Warriors coach Stephen Kearney believes David Fusitu'a has the capability to become the NRL's best winger.

Fusitu'a has been in stellar form this season, tallying 16 tries and averaging more than 100 metres per game.

That form was recently rewarded with a contract extension until the end of the 2023 season.

On top of that, he was voted the second best winger, behind Melbourne's Josh Addo-Carr in an NRL.com players' poll.

Kearney praised the 23-year-old for his rapid growth this season, but he knows Fusitu'a will only get better.

"He's made some good progress," said Kearney. "I think the thing with David is he doesn't understand how good he can really be.

"That's going to be a continuous journey and challenge for him, and that's why it's my job to make sure I keep him honest with that.

"He's made some wonderful progress over the course of the last couple of years, but he's got plenty more in him."

Fusitu'a made his NRL debut in 2014 and has since gone on to play 76 games for the Penrose-based franchise.

During his time at the club he's played in the centres and at fullback but has found himself a home in the two jersey, where his freakish leaping ability and innate finishing ability have made him a concern for defences across the NRL.

Kearney said, for now, Fusitu'a will remain on the wing.

"For us at the minute, that's his best spot. I think potentially he'll be able to play centre, but for me at the moment, that's the best spot in the team."

Kearney is challenging Fusitu'a to become a more consistent player, so he does wind up being the best in his position.

"It's about consistently performing at the top level every week, and that's what makes the great players different from the good players.

"I have got no doubt he has the capabilities but it's going to be a process and a journey for him, and that's what we [the coaches] are here to do."

Fusitu'a will be looking to add to his 16 season tries when the Warriors face the Bulldogs in Sydney on Sunday.
