Opinion: Wallabies a tougher Bledisloe Cup proposition for All Blacks

OPINION: Should we feel nervous about this Bledisloe Cup opener between the All Blacks and Australia? Yes, we should.

The Wallabies haven't held the hallowed trophy since 2003, but Newshub rugbyheads John Day and Brad Lewis explain that the All Blacks were maybe a little lucky last season.

"Test number one in Sydney was a write-off," says Day. "The All Blacks did a job on the Wallabies, but [Australia] have righted that this year - they've had a warm-up game and they should be ready for this one.

"Game Two in Dunedin - the Wallabies are still kicking themselves. They should have won that one.

All Blacks test team

"The Wallabies did beat the All Blacks last time they played, but it was a dead rubber, so I'm not reading too much into that.

"But they did all that off the back of a terrible Super Rugby effort from Australian teams last year. They've cut a team, so I think Australian rugby is stronger this year."

And world-class loose forward David Pocock is back in the yellow-and green.
