Hollywood supremo Russell Crowe shared a weird tribute to NZ Warriors hooker Issac Luke, as the former South Sydney Rabbitohs player closes in on his 250th NRL game.

Crowe, a part-owner of the 'Bunnies', posted a Twitter video of himself shooting clay pigeons with a double-barrelled shotgun.

"For my little brother Issac Luke," Crowe tweeted. "This week he plays his 250th NRL game. Stay on target Bully my son!! 4/4."

After showing off sniper-like skills with gun in hand, Crowe turned to the camera and delivered a message to Luke.

"Stay on target, Bully, stay on target, son... 250. Congratulations," Crowe said.

There was just one problem - Luke isn't due to play his 250th game for at least another couple of weeks, depending on his recovery from injury.

He will play Game 249 against St George-Illawarra Dragons on Saturday, if he passes fit from a calf niggle.

"Hahaha crazy there big brother," replied Luke. "I'll look forward to this video in two weeks. Love ya man."

'Bully', as Luke is nicknamed, was part of the Rabbitohs’ 2014 premiership-winning team, but missed the Grand Final due to suspension.

Crowe had a premiership ring made for Luke to make up for the one he would have received had he played in the season finale.
