Bledisloe Cup: All Blacks prop Owen Franks and his wedding protein shake

Owen Franks isn't one to get emotional, but he is proud of making it to his 100th test.

The understated prop will become the ninth All Black centurion when he faces the Wallabies at Eden Park on Saturday.

While brother Ben's crossed for All Blacks tries, Owen has the world record for most tests without one.

Steve Hansen credits Franks for raising the team's bar for professionalism and intensity in preparation.

"He's a 120 percenter," said Hansen. "Not many people would go to their wedding and get their wife to have a protein shake in their pocket."

As the story goes, Franks did exactly that.

"I pre-packaged the shake just to make sure I wasn't 'hangry' during the speeches.

Crusaders hooker Codie Taylor shared an anecdote about his own introduction to the Franks.

"He was a pretty intimidating man when I first came in," Taylor recalled.

"I think it was 2011 that I saw a punch-up with his own brother at training. I was pretty blown away by it."

The Wallabies have plenty of respect for Franks, but will they stick around for his capping after most didn't wait for Sam Whitelock's in Sydney last week?

After 100 tests in the pack, Owen Franks deserves the accolades.
