New Zealand Formula One driver Brendon Hartley has finished 17th at the Singapore Grand Prix, leaving him second-to-last in the overall driver standings.

Lewis Hamilton won the race from Max Verstappen, with championship rival Sebastian Vettel finishing third.

Hamilton started on pole and controlled the race from start to finish, winning from Verstappen by nine seconds, with the Dutch racer leapfrogging Vettel into second place in the overall standings.

The drivers now have two weeks off, before heading to Sochi for the Russia GP, with the Japanese GP in Suzuta a week later.

Six races are now left in the 2018 calendar, with Hamilton now the hot favourite to claim a fifth championship.
