Steve Smith has scored 85 off 92 deliveries in his first cricket match in Australia since being banned for his involvement in the ball-tampering scandal in South Africa.

The former Australian captain was playing for Sutherland against Mosman in a Sydney grade one-day game.

Former Australian vice-captain David Warner, who also got a year-long ban for his involvement in the incident, has taken a smart catch for Randwick-Petersham in another Sydney grade game and will bat later on Saturday.
