All Blacks vs Springboks: Captain Siya Kolisi ready for NZ backlash

Springboks captain Siya Kolisi is determined to show that South Africa's recent win over the All Blacks was no fluke, when the two teams collide again in Pretoria on Sunday (NZ time).

The Boks gave the All Blacks a brutal reality check in Wellington last month, when they escaped with a shock 36-34 win.

If the Springboks win in Pretoria, they will register their first back-to-back victories over the All Blacks since 2009.

Kolisi expects New Zealand will come out firing at Loftus Versfeld, desperate to avenge the two-point defeat, and he predicts another bruising, physical encounter.

"This is a huge game in every sense," said Kolisi.

"Obviously the All Blacks have already won the Rugby Championship, but we have heard them speaking of the fact that they are coming here with a real desire to win this one.

"We can all see that this is the game that is very important to them and where they will be looking to get their revenge, so we're aware of just what to expect and how physical it's going to be.

"You can feel the vibe and excitement building."

For the Springboks to repeat the feats they achieved in Wellington, Kolisi knows they need to replicate exactly what they did three weeks ago.

In that match, the All Blacks raced out to a 12-0 lead, before the Boks began their fightback by capitalising on New Zealand's mistakes.

"The most important thing is to have the same intensity of Wellington or even greater," Kolisi added.

"Our focus for that game was really just to produce the best performance we possibly could, without worrying too much about the score.

"We can't afford to be surprised by what the All Blacks bring. We know they are going to take it up a notch, they've made that clear and so we are aware of what's coming.

"From the word go, we must be ready and ensure that our all-round game is on point."
