The Football Association has employed the services of a lip reader and a translator - maybe the same person - to charge feisty Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho over comments he made to a TV camera.

Amid rumours he would be sacked by the English Premier League superpower, Mourinho apparently lashed out after his side's 3-2 comeback win over Newcastle on October 6.

Spoken in his native Portugese, the comments were interpreted as "abusive, insulting or improper language".

United trailled 2-0 to winless Newcastle at half-time, but scored three goals in the final 20 minutes to snatch victory.

The result broke a run of four games without a win and their worst start to a season for 29 years, sitting eighth on the EPL table.

Mourinho, 55, has until Friday (local time) to respond to the charge.
