Kiwi golfer Ryan fox has finished down the field following a shaky final round at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland.

The 31-year-old carded a one-over 73 on Monday (NZ time) to finish in a tie for 24th, nine shots behind winner Lucas Bjerregaard of Denmark.

Fox started his round with four pars, but had a bogey on the par-five fifth hold in his only blemish on the front nine.

He then started his back nine with a bang as he birdied the tenth hole, but another bogey on the penultimate hole mean he finished one-over for the day.

Fox also finished in a tie for 12th in the team pro-am event where he played alongside former Australian cricket Shane Warne.

The pair had a six-under 66 final round to finish 25 under for the tournament, 10 shots behind Haotong Li and Allen Zhang.

The European Tour now moves to Surrey for the British Masters.
