Harbour have kept their playoffs hopes alive with a 36-26 win over Counties Manukau in Albany.

The men from the Shore ran in five tries to four to clinch a bonus point victory at QBE Stadium.

The opening half was a back and forth affair, Harbour claiming the early advantage early through a Harrison Groundwater try before Counties struck back through Cardiff Vaega.

In the 22nd minute, Tevita Nabura gave the visitors their first lead with a try out wide.

Harbour responded 10 minutes later, earning a penalty try after repeated Counties infringements at a five-metre scrum, sending the hosts into the break with a 17-12 edge.

Daniel Hilton Jones extended that advantage just minutes into the second half, and Shaun Stevenson's bonus point try moments later put Harbour out to a commanding 29-12 lead.

The South Aucklanders responded immediately with a try to Fotu Lokotui, putting them back within striking distance.

Dillon Hunt barrelled over from close range to push Harbour's lead out further. Counties got the game's second penalty try to grab what could be a critical bonus point in their bid to avoid relegation.
