Rugby League: Andrew Fifita, Jason Taumalolo confirmed in Tonga line-up

  • 17/10/2018

Andrew Fifita and Jason Taumalolo have been confirmed to lead Mate Ma'a Tonga against rugby league world champions Australia at Auckland's Mt Smart Stadium on Saturday.

The powerhouse duo sparked an international league revolution by declaring their allegiances to the tiny Pacific nation at last year's World Cup, turning their back on Australia and New Zealand selection.

They will again take the field, as Tonga take on the Kangaroos for the first time, threatening to inflict a second defeat on the green-and-golds in as many weeks, after their shock 26-24 loss to the Kiwis last Saturday.

Warriors duo Solomone Kata and David Fusitu'a will run out on their club home ground, while former Warriors Tuimoala Lolohea, Ata Hingano, Siliva Havili and Siosua Taukaiaho will also return to their old patch.

The Tonga side to take on Australia is:

1-Will Hopate, 2-Daniel Tupou, 3-Michael Jennings, 4-Solomone Kata, 5-David Fusitu’a, 6-Tuimoala Lolohea, 7-Ata Hingano, 8-Andrew Fifita, 9-Siliva Havili, 10-Siosua Taukaiaho, 11-Tevita Pangai Jr, 12-Sika Manu, 13-Jason Taumalolo,

Interchange: 14-Sione Katoa, 15-Addin Fonua-Blake, 16-Joe Ofahengaue, 17-Peni Terepo
