An unbeaten 86 from Ross Taylor has lifted the Blackcaps to 209/9 batting first against Pakistan in the second ODI in Abu Dhabi.
The early dismissals of Colin Munro and Kane Williamson left the Blackcaps on the back foot at 25/2 when Taylor came to the crease.
Taylor couldn't find any regular partners as regular wickets stunted any Blackcaps momentum.
In fact, George Worker's 28 and Henry Nicholls' 33 were the only other batsmen to pass 20 for the tourists.
The Blackcaps could take a series-clinching 2-0 series lead if they can defend their total when Pakistan comes in to bat.
