Kiwi golfer Lydia Ko has finished tied for fifth in the LPGA's season-ending Tour Championship in Florida to end her season on a positive note.
Ko finished 12-under for the tournament, after a four-under 68 final round, to end up six shots behind American winner Lexi Thompson at Tiburon Golf Club.
Her round consisted of six birdies and two bogeys.
The 21-year-old started the day with a bang, as four of her birdies came on the front nine - at the 1st, 2nd, 6th and 7th holes - to close within four shots of Thompson.
But back-to-back bogeys on the 10th and 11th holes all-but ended her chances of catching her American opponent.
Ko then birdied the 15th and 17th holes to end on four-under.
Thompson had four birdies and two bogeys in a final-round 70 to finish four shots clear of American Nelly Korda.
The fifth-place result means Ko finished 10th in the yearlong Race to the CME Globe contest.
In 25 events this year, Ko claimed nine top-10 finishes and one win on tour.
Thailand's Ariya Jutanugarn finished at the top of the standings to claim the US$1m (NZ$1.45m) prize, along with the LPGA's season-scoring title.
