NBA: Poor first half sinks Oklahoma City Thunder against Denver Nuggets

Steven Adams' Oklahoma City Thunder have gone down swinging against Western Conference rivals Denver Nuggets.

The Nuggets have stopped the Thunders' short two-game winning streak with a comfortable 105-98 win at Chesapeake Arena.

OKC had a woeful first-half and Adams was no different, the big Kiwi had zero points at the break and was 0-6 shooting.

OKC was down by 24 at the break - a lacklustre performance that only produced 42 points.

The Thunder started their comeback in the third where Adams found his shooting form, scoring six points in both the final two quarters.

The Thunder won both quarters in the second half but it wasn't enough as the Nuggets won by seven points moving to 14-7 for the season.

OKC's two all-stars put up good numbers but their efficiency let them down. Russell Westbrook and Paul George combined for a dismal 14-44 from the field.

The Thunder fall to 12-8, they will host the improved Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday (NZT).
