Steven Adams' Oklahoma City Thunder have beaten the Charlotte Hornets on Friday (NZT) to improve their record to three wins from seven games.

The big Kiwi only managed five points in 33 minutes, but grabbed 12 rebounds including seven on the offensive end.

Adams also contributed three steals and three blocks in OKC's 111-107 win.

In a bad shooting night from the Thunder it was their bench who got the job done.

OKC made eight of 37 three-pointer attempts with the starters shooting a dismal one of 17 from deep.

Down 48-44 at half time it was two members of the OKC bench who took the sting out of the Hornets in the second half.

Back up guards Dennis Schroder and Alex Abrines got Oklahoma over the line with 21 and 25 points respectively.

The Thunder started the regular season with four losses but have hit back with three wins on the trot.

They will look to make it four when they travel to Washington to take on the struggling Wizards on Saturday (NZT).
