South Africa have beaten France with a try deep into injury time to steal a 29-26 victory in Paris on Sunday morning (NZ time).
Replacement prop Bongi Mbonambi scored off a lineout drive in the 85th minute to complete their escape from Stade de France.
France lead for most of the game, going up 16-9 just before half-time, thanks to a try from hooker Guilhem Guirado.
The hosts made the perfect start to the second half, scoring just a minute after the break.
South Africa immediately struck back to remain within touching distance until the final two minutes.
Errors from Willie Le Roux and Handre Pollard put South Africa on the back foot, but a penalty in the 89th minute meant the Springboks had to go the length of the field to win.
After several penalties, a disallowed try and a perfectly executed lineout drive, South Africa delivered the final blow. Handre Pollard slotted the conversion to seal the three-point win.
They now travel to Edinburgh to take on Scotland on Sunday.
