Tiger vs Phil: The side-bet battle in 'The Match'

'The Match' between Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson produced late drama and extra-time golf with the lefty winning after 22 head-to-head holes.

The match also produced a number of side-bets which were promised before the event.

1st Hole: It started on the first hole where before the round Mickelson and Woods agreed on a $US200 thousand bet that the lefty wouldn't birdie the first.

Mickelson hit an awesome shot into the green and left himself a left to right nine-foot putt which he missed on the high side.

On the green, the two decided if either were to hole the 40-foot putt then they would win an additional $US 50 thousand, but that didn’t eventuate.

11th Hole: Another short par-four, the driveable 284-yard hole meant a $US 200 thousand side-bet if either player made an Eagle. No eagles were made.

13th Hole:  The final par-three bought with it the final side-bet of the match. Another closest to the pin bet. Phil Mickelson hit a fantastic shot into the green as it ended up nine feet from the hole. four feet inside Woods.

The money from the side-bets will go to charity. Mickelson's manager Steve Loy confirmed the lefty will donate to his own charity, The Children of the 58 fund and the Las Vegas Shriners fund.

"To raise money for our charities that we are involved through Stem Learning and the local charities here in Vegas it means a lot to be able to help a lot of people out," Woods said.
