The Wellington Phoenix are heading north for an A-League encounter at Auckland's Eden Park.

The men from the capital will take on the Melbourne Victory on Friday, February 15, followed by a Super Rugby fixture between the Blues and the Crusaders the following night.

The Phoenix are currently unbeaten through their previous five games at New Zealand's unofficial home of rugby.

"As a club, we are thrilled we can return to New Zealand’s most iconic sporting stadium," said GM David Dome.

"This Wellington team does not fear any team - we’ve already beaten a full strength Victory in the pre-season and with a big Auckland crowd behind us, we know we can do it again."

Eden Park CEO Nick Sautner said he was excited to host the Phoenix as part of what he believed would be a bumper weekend of action.

"We're pleased to have secured an opportunity to offer Aucklanders a jam-packed weekend of sport at our iconic Auckland stadium," Sautner said.

"The introduction of premier football in next year's event calendar is a testament to our desire to modernise and attract visitors from all across the city."

The Phoenix currently sit ninth in the A-League standings, with just one win from six games.
