ANBL: A horrible third quarter costs Breakers win against Sydney

A six point third quarter from the Breakers has cost them the match as they went down to the Sydney Kings at Spark Arena on Sunday.

Shawn Long and Tom Abercrombie lead the scoring for the Breakers early on with 11 and 10 points in the first half.

By half-time NBA Champion Andrew Bogut has already recorded a double double and continued to dominate the Breakers clocking up 23 points and 16 rebounds for the game.

A disastrous performance from the Breakers in the third quarter put them into a hole losing the third frame 21-6.

Jarrad Weeks was on fire in the fourth-quarter as he shot the Breakers back into contention, scoring 12 points.

A Weeks inspired comeback wasn't enough to get the win as the home side missed a last second shot to fall to their fifth straight loss.

The Breakers backcourt of Corey Webster, Shea Ili and Patrick Richard had a horror shooting game hitting only one from their 21 attempts.

The Breakers slide to four wins and eight losses on the season and sit seventh on the table.

The Kiwi side will now travel to Cairns where they will face the bottom of the table Taipans on Sunday December 16.
