Disgraced cricketer Cameron Bancroft has been named in Perth Scorchers' 13-man squad for their Big Bash League clash against the Hobart Hurricanes in Launceston on Sunday.
"It's great to have Cam back in the squad again," Scorchers head coach Adam
Voges said. "It's been a long year for him and now he can move forward and get back to playing cricket at a high level."
The Western Australian put himself back in the media spotlight this week ahead of his reintroduction to top-flight cricket, firstly penning an open letter to himself in a Perth newspaper, then sitting down with close friend Adam Gilchrist to shed light on events in Cape Town for an interview that aired on Fox Cricket at lunch on the first day of the Boxing Day Test.
Bancroft was banned along with former captain Steve Smith and David Warner for their part in the Cape Town ball-tampering row in March this year, but his suspension ends Saturday.
