Another superb pitching performance from former major league star Josh Collmenter has helped propel the Auckland Tuatara to an Australian Baseball League win on Sunday.

The Tuatara bats cashed in as well to record a 10-3 win over the Adelaide Bite in the final game of their four-game series in Mt Gambier.

The result ensured the Tuatara avoided a series sweep.

Collmenter, who spent time with the Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves during a seven season big league career, threw seven innings of four-hit baseball, giving up just a solo run and striking out six.

Texas Rangers farmhand Eric Jenkins enjoyed a big day at the plate going 2-4 with a walk and four RBI. Max Brown smacked his second home run of the season while Kris Richards and Zach Clark each added a pair of hits and Te Wera Bishop drove in a couple of runners.

Auckland’s record improves to 7-16 with the win.

The Tuatara will enjoy a long bus road to Canberra tomorrow and will spend Christmas in the Australian capital preparing for a series against the Cavalry next weekend.
