UFC 232: Jon Jones knocks out Alexander Gustafsson in third round

Jon Jones has returned to the octagon in dramatic fashion, winning the title he once defended nine times.

The 31-year-old has beaten Alexander Gustafsson for the second time in his career, this time winning by way of TKO in the third round.

The takedown in the third round was the start of the end for Gustafsson, who had no answer for Jones once he was on the floor.

A tactic of Jones' was to stay out reach of the man from Stockholm, something he failed to do in their previous meeting.

"The first time I fought him, I stayed in his punching range - this time I was aware of where I was at all times," he said.

It's Jones' first fight since July 2017, when he stopped Daniel Cormier to reclaim the light heavyweight title - only to have it stripped because of a failed drug test.

After the fight, Jones called out Daniel Cormier, hinting at another fight between the two.

"I know there's a guy who's been calling himself champ champ," he said.

"Daddy's home, DC; prove to the fans you're the champ champ. Come and get your belt back."

To which Cormier responed on twitter.

Earlier, Amanda Nunes caused the upset of the night, knocking out fellow Brazilian Cris Cyborg to win the Women's Featherweight title and become the third fighter to hold a belt in two different weight classes at the same time.

The first round knockout came after a barrage of punches to the face of Cyborg, ending her 14-year unbeaten run.
