Wilder vs Fury: David Higgins hoping for a Tyson Fury upset

David Higgins is hoping for an upset in Sunday's (NZT) monster heavyweight showdown between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury.

The Duco boss is in Las Vegas to watch the fight and told Brendan Telfar on RadioLIVE's Saturday Sport he's hoping the 30-year-old from England will win.

"My heart says Fury, He'll tangle up Wilder, Higgins said.

"You can't write him off he's the one who beat Klitschko and opened up the heavyweight division and made it interesting again."

Higgins said through all his troubles Fury has always remained very honest.

"Through his depression, his addiction and his weight gain he was always been very open honest about it, he said.

"He has basically halved in weight and is fully fight fit again. If someone is honest like that I rate them more.

"My head, unfortunately, says Wilder.

"He's more match fit, he has a massive knock-out so I think Wilder is probably the favourite but I really hope Tyson fury does the job."

Higgins is touting the fight as a decider for the number one contender for a shot at WBO, IBF and WBA Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.

"What makes dollars makes sense, and that fight would make sense.

"Whoever wins this fight to fight Joshua is an astronomical cash pile.

"You'll have a sold-out Wembley Stadium with worldwide Pay-Per-View television, probably a one or two hundred million pound event.

"Expect the winner of Wilder Fury to fight Joshua."
