Big Bash: Mark Waugh drops 'c-bomb' on Brendon McCullum's racing passion

Former Aussie cricketer Mark Waugh has committed the biggest sin in broadcasting, dropping the c-bomb on former NZ captain Brendon McCullum during national TV coverage of the Big Bash competition.

Building up towards the Brisbane Heat-Melbourne Stars clash on Sunday, Waugh described former Blackcaps skipper as a "lucky c***", while discussing McCullum's passion for horseracing.

"Actually, he's got a share in a horse with my wife that she trains for him," he told Fox Sport host Jess Yates. "So, yeah, he loves his horses.

"Good punter. He's a lucky c***, he's a lucky punter too."

To her credit, Yates clearly recognised the slip, but continued on, as if nothing untoward had happened.

McCullum wasn't so lucky with the bat on this occasion, scoring just 13 runs, as his Heat outfit lost to Melbourne by five runs.

This wasn't the first time Waugh had misspoken on TV cricket coverage. Last October, he had trouble pronouncing the name of Pakistani player Fakhar Zaman.

"I was close, come on," Waugh told former teammate Brett Lee and host Neroli Meadows.
