Cricket: Tim Paine answers reporter's phone during press conference

Australian cricket captain Tim Paine showed he still has a good sense of humour despite a tough day in the field by answering journalist's phone during a press conference.

Australia finished day two of the fourth test at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) trailing by 598 runs after India declared their first innings on 622/7.

Paine was doing his usual post-day media session when a mobile rang during one of his answers.

The Aussie skipper was kind enough to answer the phone and take a message.

"Tim Paine speaking," he said, answering the phone that was on the desk in front of him. "Who is it, sorry? It's Casey in Hong Kong. Who are you after?"

"Ah Martin, he's in the middle of a press conference at the moment. Can I get him to call you back?

"No worries, I'll tell him to check his emails. Thanks Casey, cheers."

The journalists in the room could see the funny side and shared a laugh with Paine.

Australia will start day three of the test at the SCG on 24/0 with Marcus Harris (19) and Usman Khawaja (five) at the crease.
