Horse Racing: Te Akau Racing's Opie Bosson chasing hat-trick at Karaka Million

Te Akau Racing and jockey Opie Bosson will chase a hat trick of wins in the Karaka Million when the gates open at Ellerslie this Saturday for the country's richest race.

Bosson has chosen to ride Probabeel in the two-year-old dash for cash, but hopes of a three-peat took a hit at Wednesday's barrier draw which will see him start at gate 16.

But if there's one horse that's good enough to overcome the wide draw, it's probably Probabeel, according to owner Jo Lindsay.

"Opie's riding, Opie's an extremely experienced rider, and he'll know where to put her coming out of that gate," she said.

Bosson's led the charge for Te Akau Racing in the last two editions of the Karaka Million, victory on Melody Belle in 2017 was followed with another onboard Avantage last year.
