Jordie Barrett helps Team Rugby cause upset in Black Clash Twenty20

We expect the All Blacks to win no matter where or who they're up against, and today was no different. This time is was against cricketers, in a game of cricket.

Team Rugby has taken out the 'Black Clash" Twenty20 event in Christchurch, claiming a five wicket win.

They won the toss and elected to field, taking full advantage of that decision early on with All Black great Richie McCaw taking a fantastic catch to dismiss former Blackcaps captain Stephen Fleming.

McCaw could do no wrong, dismissing other opening batsman Nathan Astle after another superb catch, this time it was All Black captain Kieran Read off the bowling of McCaw.

Grant Elliot restored order for Team Cricket scoring 43 runs to top score in the first innings. Chris Harris contributed with 24 not out.

McCaw was the pick of the bowlers finishing with figures of two for 31 off his four while Jordie Barrett claimed two for 53.

The 21-year-old fullback made his mark in the second innings, scoring a fantastic 42 not out, including a barrage of runs against teammate Aaron Smith in the 18th over.

The performance capped off a stellar night for Barrett who claimed two wickets and a run out in the first innings.

Brendon McCullum top scored for team Rugby with 48 runs and Beauden Barrett chipped in with 26.

Team Rugby's chase came down to the last over and ended with Jordie Barrett hitting a four off the first ball off the 20th over to upset team cricket and win by five wickets.

Team Rugby: 171-5 (Brendon McCullum 48, Jordie Barrett 42 no ; James Franklin 2-15).
