NBA: James Harden sinks Warriors with multiple clutch threes

James Harden hit two massive three pointers to earn his Houston Rockets a hard fought victory over the reigning two-time champion Golden State Warriors.

At one point in the first half the Rockets trailed by 20, but centre Clint Capela and Harden lead the visitors to within three with 43 seconds to go in regulation. Up stepped the reigning league MVP to tie the game.

After sending the game into overtime the Rockets found themselves on the wrong end of a call with 23 seconds to go.

Warriors forward Kevin Durant recovered a loose ball which led to a Stephan Curry go-ahead basket.

Replays showed Durant had made contact with ball with both his feet outside of play making the play illegal; however the officials missed the original call.

The Rockets regrouped, called a timeout and ran a play for their star guard.

Harden received the ball from an in-bound pass and shot over three Warriors defenders to win the game with an audacious three-pointer.

Harden ended the night with a 44 point triple double scoring 44 points, collecting 10 rebounds and handing 15 assists.

The loss for the Warriors sees them slip to third in the Western conference with Oklahoma City Thunder moving to second.
