Fiji have made it consecutive sevens titles in New Zealand with a 38-0 win over USA in the final of the World Series opener in Hamilton.

The crowd favourites were in control from the outset - dictating possession expertly to ensure it was one-way traffic throughout in a six-try to zero pasting.

The Americans struggled to get their hands on any quality ball, and a staunch Fijian defense was on hand whenever they did.

Jerry Tuwai got Fiji off to a flyer, finishing a deftly-worked move to put his side ahead early.

Just a minute later, Waisea Nacuqu was over in the corner to push Fiji out to a 10-0 lead.

With the first half up it was Aminasai Tuimaba who nabbed another try send Fiji into the interval with an imposing 17-0 advantage.

Two more tries to Naduva and a second for Tuwai sealed it for the Pacific Islanders in a rampant second half onslaught.

The series now makes its way across the Tasman for the Sydney league next weekend.
