Blackcaps vs India: Visitors level series after Eden Park thrashing

The Blackcaps have been outclassed by India, thrashed by seven wickets at Eden Park in the second T20 of the series. 

Kane Williamson won the toss and chose to bat, the hero from the first game Tim Seifert couldn't get going and fell first for 12 runs.

Munro was dismissed two overs later for the same score off 12 balls.

Captain Kane Williamson continued his average series against the Indians - scoring just 20.

Daryl Mitchell was controversially dismissed for just one ball after being given out LBW, after reviewing it hotspot showed a big mark on the bat - but a lack of spike on snicko was enough for the third umpire to give it out.

The only bright spot of the match came next, Colin de Grandhomme (50) scoring a career high in a T20 with an exhibition of clean hitting and great placement.

Ross Taylor also batted well, scoring 42 runs off 36 balls to get the Blackcaps to 158/8 off their 20 overs. 

The pick of the Indian bowlers were Krunal Pandya who claimed 3/28 off his four and Khaleel Ahmed who took 2/27 off his four overs.

In reply, the Indians were in cruise control early.

Rohit Sharma and Shikar Dhawan put on a first wicket partnership of 79 before Sharma was dismissed on 50 off the bowling of Ish Sodhi.

Dhawan (30) was the next to go, after a superb bouncer from Lockie Ferguson.

Rishabh Pant (40 no) and M.S Dhoni (20 no) finished the job for India, securing the win with seven balls remaining to cap off a great night for the visitors.

The death bowling was difference in the two sides with the hosts scoring only 58 runs off their last eight overs.

The two sides will now turn their attention to the series decider in Hamilton on Sunday.
