Cricket: White Ferns emulate Blackcaps to get back to winning ways

The White Ferns have had the last laugh in the one-day international series against the Indian Women in their three-game series, winning the final match by eight wickets. 

Like the Blackcaps, the Ferns won the toss and sent the visitors in to bat.

Smriti Mandhana was the first to go, Anna Peterson getting the opener caught for just one.

Lea Tahuhu was on song with the new ball dismissing Jemimah Rodrigues for 12.

Deepti Sharma was the best for the visitors with the bat scoring 52 runs off 90 balls to help them to a total of 149 all out.

Peterson was the pick of the bowlers taking 4/28 runs off her 10 overs, Tahuhu took three for 26 off nine and leg-spinner Amelia Kerr claimed 2/43 off her 10.

In reply the hosts cruised to victory chasing down the total in the 30th over with eight wickets in hand.

Captain Amy Satterwaite top scored for the hosts with 66 not out while opener Susie Bates scored 57.

India won the three-match series 2-1.

The two sides now turn their attention to the three match T20 series starting on Wednesday February 6.
