The Black Sticks men's hockey team has come from behind to take world champions Belgium to a penalty shootout at the Pro League in North Harbour drawing 4-4 and earning a point.
The hosts scored first thanks to a Hugo Inglis penalty stroke, which was immediately
negated due to a Cédric Charlier goal.
Maxime Plennevaux scored for the visitors just before half-time to take a 2-1 lead into the break.
Aidan Sarikaya tied things up in the third quarter after hitting a fantatic backstick from an unlikely angle.
Both teams scored again and looked to press for a winner, but the scored ended 4-4 which saw the game go to a penalty shootout.
Belgium were the more clinical team in the shootout, comfortbaly winning 4-2 to take the extra point.
