Boxing: Showboating fighter knocked out with seconds left in bout

British boxer Sam Maxwell scored a dramatic win in the final 15 seconds of his fight, after knocking out showboating opponent Sabri Sediri in their super-lightweight bout.

On Sunday (NZ time), Maxwell was struggling in the 10-round contest and was down on the scorecards, after being knocked down twice at the Morningside Arena in Leicester.

With the clock running down, Sediri began taunting his opponent by dancing around the ring, leaving his hands down and exposing his chin.

Then Maxwell, 30, showed why you should never give up, as he landed a powerful right hand that sent the Frenchman to the canvas.

Sediri stumbled back to his feet, but by then, the referee had ended the fight.

Sediri suffered his first career defeat, while Maxwell kept his unbeaten 11-0 record intact, while claiming the vacant WBO European super-lightweight title.

If there is one lesson to take from this, if you're going to taunt, you better be fast enough to dodge those knockout blows.
