Biography
Born in Nangarhar, Rashid has 10 siblings and his family fled to Pakistan during the Afghan War. As he developed, he modelled his bowling style on Pakistan's Shahid Afridi.

Made his ODI as a 17-year-old against Zimbabwe and played in Afghanistan's first-ever test against India, returning the most expensive figures by a test debutant in a nation's maiden test.

Last year, Rashid became the youngest player to captain his country at the age of 19 years and 165 days, and became the youngest and fastest to take 100 wickets in the World Cup qualifying final against West Indies. His 44 matches beat the previous fastest of 52 by Australian Mitchell Starc.

At 20, he is already a star of the Indian, Caribbean, Australian 'Big Bash' and Afghanistan T20 leagues.

Rashid is ranked first on the ICC World Rankings for all-rounders and second among bowlers.
