Horse Racing: Mighty mare Winx wins 32nd straight race

Winx has extended her record-winning career, taking out the George Ryder Stakes at Rosehill, powering home as usual to win by three lengths.

Jockey Hugh Bowman took Winx from the back of the field with about 300 metres to go in the 1500m race, easily passing the other runners to record her 32nd straight win, 24th Group One and fourth George Ryder.

"There's not much you can say, she's just out of this world," Winx part-owner Peter Tighe said.

"About half-way down the straight we were pretty confident that she was going to go on with it."

"She did what she does best and just put them all to the sword."

Although it's yet to be confirmed by trainer Chris Waller, Winx's next race, the Queen Elizabeth Stakes on April 13 at Randwick will likely be her last.
