82nd minute - Jaguares win another tighthead and kick the ball dead to win. That's heartbreaking for the Blues - their third loss of the season.

80th minute - Blues barely win the lineout and look for a way through, but Black's pass to Robinson goes loose and Jaguares have a defensive scrum to clear for victory.

Big scrum from the Blues and they win a penalty. They call for the scrum.

77th minute - SBW slips a brilliant pass that gets Blues on the front foot. They pound the Jaguares defence, but Mafileo spills the ball in a tackle.

Rastas is playing advantage and Black kicks to the corner.

74th minute - Blues threaten to bust out, but Robinson turns the ball over and Jaguares go on the attack.

73rd minute - TRY! After what looked like knocks-on both ways, Papalii recovers the ball and bursts clear to score.

Black converts and the game is still live.

69th minute - TRY! Jaguares win the lineout and roll the maul to the goal-line. From the middle of the maul, Montoya bursts over in the corner to score.

They're reviewing to see if he went into touch, but the TMO is urging the ref to make the decision, because there's no vision.

Try given, Diaz Bonilla hits the post with his conversion.

67th minute - Jaguares win a tighthead and then a penalty to clear - that's huge.

64th minute - TRY! Moyano is over again from broken play. He beats Plummer's tackle on the left sideline and simply has too much gas for the defence.

Diaz Bonilla converts, Jaguares 18-12.

62nd minute - Moulds replaces Parsons at hooker.

61st minute - Blues defence showing good line speed and Diaz Bonilla eventually kicks deep into the Blues half.

Plummer is there to tidy up though and Jaguares knock on the clearing kick.

Ruru replaces Pulu at halback and Karl Tu'inukuafe comes into the front row for the Blues.

53rd minute - Blues are penalised at the breakdown - Goodhue has tried to bring down the maul - and Diaz Bonillo lines up a kick at goal from about 45 metres on the angle.

He hooks it wide.

52nd minute - Harry Plummer replaces Rieko Ioane, with Plummer moving to fullback and Nanai to the wing for the Blues.

50th minute - Blues are still on attack, but a long pass is batted down and Rasta penalises the Jaguares out in front.

Hold all tickets, they've gone upstairs to review and the try is disallowed. Jaguares are back to 15 men for this five-metre scrum by the posts.

42nd minute - Pulu puts in a great kick that lands just outside the Jaguares 22. Ioane is there to wrap the ball up and from the turnover, Nonu puts a kick behind the defence that results in a five-metre scrum.

41st minute - Goodhue is back on the field for the Blues, after passing a head injury assessment.

*****

Not an inspiring game so far, with lots of aimless kicking, regular infringing and kicks at goal, with just that one flash of brilliance from the Jaguares making the difference on the scoreboard.

With All Blacks welfare protocols kicking in, Ioane and Tuipulotu will disappear pretty quickly after the restart, which definitely won't help the Blues cause.

Will Otere Black's wayward goal-kicking come back to haunt his team?

37th minute - TRY! Blues are penalised and while everyone is standing around, they take a quick tap and kick through. Pulu tidies up, but the clearing kick from Telea is a shocker.

Ramiro Moyano receives the ball in centrefield and simply outpaces the defence to score in the left corner. Diaz Bonilla misses from the sideline.

35th minute - Blues seem to have lost the ball, but Rasta says play on. Very untidy sequence of play.

Jaguares have made 93 tackles in 35 minutes.

33rd minute - After 22 phases, Rasta have the Jaguares for tackling without the ball - there's a double blast, so someone is in big trouble here. They're checking upstairs.

Lavanini has taken Robinson out early, there was a hint of a shoulder and he's shown yellow. Black puts this one down the middle.

31st minute - Blues are dominating possession and territory, but can't find a way through the Jaguares defence.

29th minute - Jaguares are offside again in centrefield and Black looks to the posts once more. Definite pattern emerging here - he's missed this one too.

27th minute - Lots of aimless kicking eventually results in a Blues lineout.

25th minute - Rasta pings the Jaguares for not rolling away in a tackle and Black lines up another penalty attempt from centrefield. He hits the upright and the ball bounces away.

23rd minute - Blues are threatening the Jaguares line. Tuipulotu and Tuungafasi both lunge at the line, getting desperately close.

Eventually, Gerard Cowley-Tuioti lose the ball and the Jaguares clear. Cowley-Tuioti seems to have replaced Goodhue.

21st minute - Veteran hooker Agustin Creevy leaves the field with sore ribs, after a crunching tackle from Tuipulotu. That's a big loss for the Jaguares.

20th minute - Tuungafasi hurts Lavanini with a solid tackle just after he passes the ball. There's some concern that it was illegal, but everyone seems happy now and play continues.

18th minute - Robinson and Goodhue both make good ground at the end of back-line moves, but the Jaguares defence is solid and the lock is eventually tackled into touch.

16th minute - Blues lose an attacking lineout and Diaz Bonilla wins a kicking duel, finding touch deep in Blues half.

14th minute - Matias Orlando splits the Blues defence and the Jaguares pour onto attack. They're held up over the line - great strength from Akira Ioane - but ref Rasta Rasivhenge was playing advantage for offside and Diaz Bonilla levels the scores.

10th minute - Blues recover a Jaguares knock-on and Nanai makes a break, but runs out of support and is tackled into touch. Jaguares clear from the lineout.

Seventh minute - From the kick-off, Jaguares knock on and the player recovering the ball is off-side. Blues decide not to kick to the corner and Black lines up another shot at goal.

He slots it, Blues 6-3.

Fifth minute - Jaguares on the attack and win a penalty for offside. Diaz Bonilla just sneaks the ball inside the uprights to lock the scores up.

Second minute - Ioane takes an inside ball from a lineout win and threatens to split the defence. From the breakdown, the Blues win a penalty, which Otere Black slots from in front.

Good confidence-building start, Blues 3-0

Pre-kickoff

The build-up for this match has been tainted by the death of Blues extended squad member and North Harbour prop Michael Tamoaieta's death on Friday.

His image is on the stadium scoreboard and the Blues players are wearing black armbands in his memory.

The Jaguares are always tough to beat at home, so this will be a real challenge for the BLues, if they hope to turn their season around.

Kia ora, good morning and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of the Blues vs Jaguares Super Rugby clash from Buenos Aires.

Well, it's week three of the 2019 competition and the Blues find themselves in familiar territory - still looking for victory.

After their unlucky loss to the Crusaders two weeks ago, they were ordinary against the Sharks in Durban last week and must strike now, or they'll be battling for the NZ conference wooden spoon again.

Leon Macdonald's arrival in Auckland seemed just the remedy for the franchise's recent struggles, but he must now stop the rot.

He continues to rotate his All Blacks players, with Ma'a Nonu replacing Sonny Bill Williams at second-five, after taking last week off. Internationals Rieko Ioane and Patrick Tuipulotu will likely be subbed soon after halftime, so they need to make their presence felt early.

Jaguares lost to the three-time runners-up Lions in their opener, but toppled the visiting Bulls 27-12 last week.
