Pre-game: So the Blues' win overnight means they have passed the Highlanders for third in the NZ conference and put some distance on the Chiefs, languishing at the bottom.

But the Chiefs can catch the southerners with a bonus-point win here - the Blues have had a mortgage on the wooden spoon in recent seasons and these two teams have enjoyed title success during that time.

They won't want to finish at the bottom.

Nathan Harris lines up for his 50th game for the Chiefs today.

Kia ora, good morning and welcome to Newshub's coverage of the Chiefs' Super Rugby clash with the Jaguares in Buenos Aires.

Flash back a week and the Hamilton-based side were celebrating their first win over the season over the Bulls in Pretoria, no less.

That result was real shock, but now they must back that up against the Argentinian side without talismanic All Blacks lock Brodie Retallick.

They will have international midfielder Anton Lienart-Brown back - he was injured out of last week's victory - while Michael Allardice takes the captain's armband

The Jaguares currently sit bottom of the South African conference with two wins from five games - one of those wins was at home against the Blues.
